Tonight I received an email from my sister, Barbara, that had included a series of beautiful photographs of Christmas Trees from around the world. The photograph by James Varhegyi at the close of the email was even more stunning. It was an image of a snow-covered Arlington Cemetery with every single headstone of our Nation's fallen heroes decorated with a Christmas wreath. The email went on to say that the wreaths were donated by the Worcester Wreath Company in Maine.
I did some research to confirm that facts in the forwarded email and learned that the Worcester Wreath Company did indeed remember our fallen heroes during the Christmas holidays; and they have done so since they created "Wreaths Across America" over 15 years ago. Not sure if their efforts have ever been publicized or not but I had never heard of them until tonight.
I honor Morrill Worcester, President of Worcester Wreath Company, the first of what I hope will be many, many heroes for his work in remembering the sacrifices of our veterans.
Thank you, Mr. Worcester and everyone at Worcester Wreath Company in Harrington, Maine.
